Isabel Marant

The way from Isabel Marant to a symbol for comfortable and cool looks

When Isabel Marant started at the Studio Bercot fashion school in Paris, the best advice she got from the then founder and director was probably: "Only create designs that you would wear yourself". To this day, this is the credo and the reason why Isabel Marant's designs are so authentic. After her studies, during which she already worked with major labels and personalities such as Chloé or Yohji Yamamoto, she gained some experience in the fashion industry before launching her first own collection in 1989. The uncomplicated look with influences from different cultures, which she brought back from her numerous travels, was well received, so that it was a logical step to found her own label. In 1995, she presented her first prêt-à-porter collection at Fashionweek and with her comfortable and cool boho-style looks, she clearly set herself apart from the glamorous chic that dominated at the time. With success, because already in 1998 the first boutique on the Rue de Charonne followed and became an insider tip.

World success with simple T-shirts and trousers

With the presentation of individual creations of her second prêt-à-porter brand, Étoile by Isabel Marant, at the Ready-to-wear shows in Paris in 1999, her world fame was unstoppable. The simple, practical yet stylish garments were so well received that a complete collection was created. At Isabel Marant, the focus is on functional materials and natural designs that are aimed at "normal" women. She knows like no other how to combine carefreeness and finesse. Her looks are often characterised by striking shoulder areas, low waist cuts, casual trousers and the boho flair typical of Isabel Marant. Because her style runs like a red thread through all her collections, the designer pieces can be easily combined with each other. There is also a men's line today.

Whether for the red carpet or H&M - unmistakably Isabel Marant

In addition to her simple collections, the Parisian designer also designs clothes for the red carpet. Nevertheless, it is important to her to create fashion that is aimed at everyone. This is how the collaboration with H&M and the "Isabel Marant pour H&M" line came about in 2013. This line included oversized woollen coats, quilted jackets with batik patterns, leather pants in biker look and fringed leather boots - all inexpensive replicas of the fashion show designs. The high quality is reflected in every garment.
