Already the appearance at a fashion fair in Florence in 1962 helped the Italian luxury label to a breakthrough. In the late 1960s the big "V" became the famous official logo of the fashion label. In 1969 Valentino designed his first prêt-à-porter women's line, followed three years later by the first men's collection. Since 1975 Valentino has also been a guest at the Paris fashion shows. And since 1977, Valentino's fragrance creations have also been extremely successful.
With his exclusive style of the highest elegance, Valentino quickly found favour with celebrities all over the world. Hollywood stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor dressed in the chic robes of the Italian star designer. Valentino's fashion was a fixture on the red carpet at many Hollywood galas and the annual Academy Awards.
