The first real success of the Missoni brand was a vertically knitted sweater in 1955, and the two founders of the company built on this success and continued to expand their range of colourful fashions until 1966, when they presented their first own collection at the time-honoured Teatro Gerolamo in Milan. This collection became a great success throughout Italy.
From that time on, the concept of Missoni was to produce fashion that mainly expressed youthful and sporty elegance. Thanks to the colourful zigzag patterns, the fashion of the label also developed into a real eye-catcher. More and more often, fashion magazines outside Italy printed Missoni's designs, so that the brand also became increasingly successful internationally. After Rosita and Ottavio Missoni have retired from the business of their company, their two sons Vittorio and Luca are responsible for both the marketing of the company and men's fashion.
