Stella McCartney

Cheeky, cool and yet graceful, elegant and girlish - Stella McCartney first brought a breath of fresh air to the fashion industry as chief designer of the French fashion house Chloé. She was only 25 years old at the time. In 2001 she decided to found her own label of the same name. By then, the daughter of Beatles singer Paul McCartney and Linda McCartney had already made a big name for herself in the fashion world. Whether it's the waisted trouser suits for women, T-shirts with statement slogans or playful bikinis with fruit motifs, one thing Stella McCartney's looks are definitely not - boring. And also, or perhaps precisely because she now creates much more feminine and discreet fashion, the mother of four is one of the top designers in the fashion world.

Stella McCartney - the way from "little daughter" to a recognized fashion designer

Stella McCartney was born in London in 1971. Her parents were none other than Beatles singer Paul McCartney and his wife Linda. She discovered her passion for fashion design at the tender age of twelve and started sewing clothes herself. To further her talent, Paul McCartney arranged for his daughter to do an internship with Christian Lacroix in Paris - the first step in her career as a popular fashion designer loved by numerous stars. Determined, she then completed an art course and enrolled for studies at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. She was often labeled the "daughter of" here, but her graduation collection, for which she had already won over Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, quickly silenced the critical voices. Her entire graduation collection was subsequently sold in a boutique in Tokyo.

The breakthrough for the self-confident Stella McCartney came two years after her graduation, when the fashion label Chloé brought the young talent to Paris as head designer and she succeeded Karl Lagerfeld. With her young, cheeky and playful fashion collections, she helped the then struggling company out of the crisis and placed the luxury brand back in the top league of fashion labels. In 2000 she even designed the wedding dress of pop icon Madonna.

The foundation of the own label

A year later, in 2001, the British woman left the company and, with financial support from the Gucci Group, founded her own label Stella McCartney, which she continued to do so on the same basis. She is best known for modern, fresh looks with a touch of playfulness and feminine romance. The girlish garments, which you can also find in the designer second hand online shop of Vite EnVogue, are often characterized by puffed sleeves, lace and flounces and present themselves in subtle pastel colors. At the same time, she lets seductive elements and imaginative details flow in. Stella McCartney's designs are also characterised by oversized and masculine cuts. It seems to be precisely the interplay of feminine and narrow lines, for which her famous tight-fitting trouser suit is representative, and the voluminous, sometimes coarse shapes that are so loved by numerous stars and celebrities. Over the years, she has expanded her range to include accessories, sunglasses and a perfume and cosmetics line.
