Dior

Dior is one of the largest and most successful fashion labels in the world. The brand was founded in 1946 by Christian Dior with his first haute couture studio in Paris. The designer's intention was to turn away from the previous women's fashion of the war years and made Dior fashion famous with feminine, figure-hugging designs and elegant skirts. In addition to individual pieces, Dior also offers ready-made sizes that belong to the luxury segment of the industry. In the meantime, the brand has, in addition to high-quality women's fashion in the haute couture and ready-to-wear segments, men's and children's fashion with the names "Dior Men" and "Baby Dior" in the segment and is also a leading brand in the perfume and leather goods industry.

Dior

Dior - a success story

Dior already laid a fashionable foundation with its first collection and was partly responsible for Paris becoming the fashion capital of the world. Under the direction of the French designer Pierre Cardin, who was considered a co-founder of the futuristic fashion of the time, Dior achieved international attention. The company quickly expanded into other areas beyond women's fashion, with the first perfume "Miss Dior", for example, appearing just four years after the company was founded.

After the death of Christian Dior in 1957, Yves Saint Laurent took over the artistic direction. His first collection, in which he used trapeze lines in his dresses instead of the predominant wasp waist, was a world success and another milestone in the fashion industry from Dior. Women also celebrated the designer for dispensing with constricting stiffeners in his dresses, thus creating a new wearing sensation for women for that time.

The history of an empire

Dior is now a billion-dollar luxury goods group and has long since ceased to be restricted to the fashion sector. Dior is also represented with leather goods such as handbags and an accessory line with spectacle frames, perfumes and cosmetics. Dior has also already published its own collections in the shoe segment, ranging from sneakers to heel boots. The French fashion brand's business areas also include a wristwatch segment, in which various designers, such as Galliano, have already presented their models under the Dior umbrella brand.

Dior - more than classic Haute Couture

Dior is still known today for the sometimes very unusual haute couture fashion that is presented on the catwalks of the world. Since 2016, Maria Grazia Chiuri has been the first woman to hold the artistic direction of the women's segment and is celebrating great success with Dior not only in the haute couture sector but also in the ready-to-wear segment.
