Yves Saint Laurent

Classic, elegant and androgynous forms for self-confident women - that is what the fashion house Saint Laurent still stands for today. Hardly any other fashion designer has revolutionized the world of haute couture as much as Yves Saint Laurent. He was also known as the enfant terrible of the fashion scene due to his partly scandalous designs. "Le Smoking", the first pantsuit for ladies is now an integral part of today's fashion world and caused quite a stir in its day. At Vite EnVogue you will find the exceptional fashion in designer second hand at equally scandalous low prices.

Yves Saint Laurent - the enfant terrible of the fashion world

Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent discovered his love for costumes while still at school and became a costume designer for all school theatre productions. His passion for clothes brought him to the renowned fashion school École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture in Paris at the age of 17. His first job afterwards was with Christian Dior. At the age of only 21 he was promoted to art director here. The first collection "Ligne Trapèze" for Dior turned the fashion world upside down and was a huge success. Until then, the wasp waist had been an absolute must for women; with the new trapezoidal shapes, it was now over with the constricting, uncomfortably fitting costumes for women. Saint Laurent had thus initiated a real fashionable liberation for the ladies.

The company Yves Saint Laurent

After Dior, Yves became self-employed with his partner Pierre Bergé and founded the company Yves Saint Laurent. The first collection shook up the Parisian fashion world and convinced with its unique clear lines and the stylish androgynousness that always characterized his fashion. He was inspired by artists such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol or works of art by Matisse or Picasso. The greatest fashion coup came in 1966 with the introduction of "Le Smoking", the first tuxedo for women to date, which skilfully staged the silhouette of the woman. Bianca Jagger even wore a white tuxedo by Yves Saint Laurent at her wedding with Mick Jager, making a real statement on emancipation. Timelessly elegant pieces by Saint Laurent can also be found in the online shop of Vite EnVogue. You can make your very own fashion statement!

More than just fashion

In the 1970s, the renowned house also launched its first own fragrances, which are still considered timeless classics today. For the men's fragrance "YSL pour Homme", the fashion designer had himself photographed naked for the print campaign, which of course caused an enormous stir. Classic and iconic pieces are also the famous handbags of Saint Laurent. Whether clutches or handle bags - the attention to detail makes them noble eye-catchers. So it's worth looking in our online shop Vite EnVogue to find your own it bag.

Saint Laurent ohne Yves

In 2002 Yves retired from the fashion business. But that does not mean that things became quiet around the brand. With the engagement of Tom Ford at the end of the 90s, another enfant terrible of the fashion world was at the wheel. Ford brought new energy and gave the brand a fresh and sexy image. He also staged provocative scenes, such as the actress Sophie Dahl naked and dressed only in stilettos for the perfume Opium. After the death of Yves in 2008, creative director Hedi Slimane was hired for the company and turned Yves Saint Laurent into Saint Laurent.

In our online shop Vite EnVogue we have a lot of the unique designer second hand pieces of Saint Laurent on offer. It's easy to make fashion statements and guarantee an iconic look of timeless elegance. Best you start right away!
